Anxiety Treatment
Feelings of anxiety can be overwhelming. It’s hard to figure out what to do or where to turn for help when you’re caught up in your thoughts and fears.
Anxiety can take control of your thoughts, making a problem seem bigger than it actually is, causing you to panic. You might be feeling worried without knowing what you’re even worried about. The response might even be physical.
You’re not alone. Many people have a hard time controlling their racing heart and dreadful thoughts. Some people even avoid anxiety-inducing circumstances altogether.
However, you don’t have to live this way. Whether you want to work through it slowly or tackle your fears head on, therapy can help relieve your anxious feelings. You can work with a therapist to develop tools for managing your anxiety and to create new beliefs to manage your anxious thoughts.
Maybe you’ve tried different forms of therapy in the past without success and felt like it wasn’t right for you. Maybe you’ve seen someone who listens without much interaction, letting you talk and figure everything out on your own. But all therapists aren’t the same.
Sessions with me are interactive and goal-oriented with a focus on helping you develop new beliefs so you can stop feeling so afraid and work toward doing things you’d like to do throughout the day without added worry.
I work with people who are motivated and ready for change. Even after the first appointment, people often walk away sensing some relief. My clients recognize the importance of a structured, direct therapeutic setting.
Over the course of a few sessions and with weekly homework assignments, you’ll learn specific skills and coping mechanisms so you can eventually rely on yourself to help yourself feel better.
